Alma Doepel

The Alma Doepel is a three-masted topsail schooner and is one of the oldest such ships surviving. Today we learn the history of this 110-year-old ship and of its renovations, after which you can have morning tea. Be aware that there are stairs to climb. From here we will enjoy lunch before heading home.

Tesselaar Tulips

Tesselaar Tulip Festival is held in Silvan, Victoria every spring since 1954. It has become one of iconic tourist attraction in Victoria, Australia with more than 120 varieties of tulips are shown on a 55-acre farm. This tulip farm was initiated by a couple of Dutch immigrants, Cees and Johanna Tesselaar. From here we head off to Rose’s Cottage for a country style lunch and this venue is BYO so if you want a drink bring, it along.

Today we visit the Long Extended Tunnel for a guided tour. With flat ground and not much walking it will be of interest to all. Then it is off to Wally’s Pub for lunch before having a look around this historic town. A minimum of 35 is needed for this trip to go ahead.

This is an amazing property that looks over both Port Phillip Bay and Bass straight down towards Lorne. Nick Smith is a landscape genius. The gardens he has created are simply stunning. The property is also an animal sanctuary with white kangaroos, emus and cows.
